Caesar Salad Festival 2023 in Tijuana will celebrate 99 years of this iconic dish

On July 30, the “Festival Ensalada Caesar’s Tijuana 2023” will take place celebrating 99 years since the creation of a dish that, for almost a century, has become a historic international reference of Tijuana

The President of the Committee of Tourism and Conventions of Tijuana (COTUCO), Arturo Gutiérrez Sánchez; Juan José Plascencia, leader of CANIRAC Tijuana, and singer Frank Di were at a press conference where they revealed information about the next edition of the Festival Ensalada Caesar’s Tijuana 2023.

The festival will take place at Avenida Revolución between Calle 4 and Calle 5 in front of the legendary Hotel Caesar. It is expected that around 1,500 people arrive to this festival to try out this famous salad and several of the region’s wines.

At this festival, 12 restaurants with different gastronomic styles will participate including Mariscos El Ángel, AC Gourmet, Riocha 7, Blue Luna, Asadero Sonora, Barrikas, Cypress, Casa Plascencia. 12 wineries of Baja California will also participate and it includes wineries such as Cetto, Madera 5, Bodegas Magoni, Vinos LT.

In addition, there will be musical performances. For example, Frank Di, who is coming back to the stage after his performance at Viña del Mar, claimd that his concert will be unforgettable, unique, and different.

It should be noted that this festival that will celebrate the 99th anniversary of the popular Caesar salad will be for a cause in benefit of “Bebé Cardio”, a non-profit organization, created in January 2020, that provides medical care to children who were born with heart defects. From its inception to the current day, they have satisfactorily treated 116 children. Regarding the benefit they will receive, this still hasn’t been revealed but it is expected that it is similar to previous editions and that they receive 30% to 40%.

The price of admission to this festival will be $350 pesos ($21 dollars) and it includes trying out this traditional salad and one of the 12 participating wineries. Admission to this event is limited and admission for children younger than 12 is free. Tickets can be purchased at Restaurante Caesar’s, Villa Saverios, Casa Plasencia, Quimérico, Canirac Tijuana, Chans Bistro, Barbas Cakes & Coffe, Amora Restaurante, Tea Spot, Farmacias Roma, or on the day of the event at the ticket booth.
